May 9th, 2009: Best Day Ever

Graduate school has been so tough, but now that it's over I'll say it's worth it! I am really so happy & excited for Tanner & can't wait for him to start his career!

Tanner will be starting his job at the end of June. He'll be doing research, writing papers and fielding the community and professional's questions about drugs. So exciting!

I decided to take advantage of the not-so-strict policy of running out onto the field when you shouldn't. This shot was snapped only seconds before the guys walked onto the field and the walking & commencement for other colleges had already begun!

Commencement turned out to be great. There were 2 speakers who both talked under a minute each, and because Tanner's college was getting their doctrates they all got to walk first!

You can't see my family, but it was so great to have them come all the way here to show their support and see Tanner walk. Thank you!

Check out our amazing friends. I get emotional just writing about you all! I don't think any of us knew what we were in for, but we stuck together and made it work. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness and service towards us! Having a support group when family was not nearby has been lifesaving.

The night before graduation day the College threw a rockin' banquet to honor all the graduates. At one point all the students stood up and repeated a page long oath. The nerd level at that point went through the roof!

Congrats Dr. Higginbotham!!

Awesome post and pictures. I agree that was the best day ever!! It's weird to think the boys will never have to study again. I'm glad y'all are sticking around.

I'm proud of all our boys, and all the girls for that matter. We made it!!!!HOORAY!!! I'll be up once a month until October so I'll be over to visit. The boys did work hard but you have to admit the boys did a lot of playing too. How do you think they became so close. ;) P.S. I think everyone thinks I'm a snatch because I'm never really smilIng in any pictures. HAHAHAHA
