Julian began sucking his left thumb when he was 4 months old.
Just wanted to post what happens when you start sucking-nay chewing off your finger. His thumb gets like this when he has an ear infection and it's hard for him to tolerate the pain.
I always find out after the fact with his thumb showing the after math. This is the 2nd time he's had this kind of thumb infection!
It's sad because you know his left thumb is still his source of comfort, so every time he'd get upset he couldn't comfort himself.
We have 2 thumb guards on the way (he's just started sucking his right thumb too). Julian's hardcore!

Oh, man. Switching to the right thumb! That little stinker. I really hope the thumb guard works for you guys. I wish we had nipped Liv's finger sucking when she was that young.
We used the thumb guards for our Shawn and they worked great. He wore them for 2 weeks and hasn't sucked his thumb since. Good luck!!
