Meet...The Giant Cookie Boy!
Sadly, he only graced our counter for a few short hours. Here's the funny story of why:
A couple Sundays ago a sweet woman named Shelly dropped by our home and gave us this giant cookie boy! It was a sweet gift offering she gave us before we moved out of state and into our new home (note the saying on the balloon, "Good Luck in Your New Home"). It made us laugh, and the boys absolutely loved it. I thought it was so sweet!
The next day Tanner and I left the house so the inspection could take place (our home was put on the market just a couple weeks ago, and we've already had some buyers put an offer in!) I cleaned all the house in the morning, but left the giant cookie on the counter. He was too big to fit anywhere else.
When we came home in the afternoon, we saw that the giant cookie boy was gone, and the sweetest thank-you letter left in it's place. The buyers had apparently come while the inspection was taking place, and they mistook the giant cookie (and the apparent balloon note) as an awesome gift offering from us to them!! They also took a plate of valentine cookies that were sitting right by it! I try to picture what their faces were like when they saw the giant cookie. It just cracks me up.
When I called to tell Shelly about what happened, we had a great laugh. She said that she didn't want to put "We'll Miss You" on the balloon because I'd feel bad, so she opted for the alternate saying of "Good Luck In Your New Home."
:)
Tanner and I teased that her giant cookie would be the clincher in these buyers ultimately buying the home (maybe she should even earn some kind of percentage of the sale). And now, I'm passing on this cookie's funny tale to make you all smile. It's the cookie that just keeps on giving!

This is the funniest story. I told my inlaws and they thought it was hilarious.
It's still so funny! We miss you!
This makes my day - it's so awesome. It's one of those things you might read somewhere and think, "that couldn't have really happened..." it's just too perfect. HUH Larious.
Thank you for the visual- it just completes the story!
Okay, I can see how the cookie boy could've been mistaken. But the Valentine's cookies, too??? C'mon, that's just greedy. Oh, man, that was a good laugh.
