There's No Mistakin'

Within the first 30 seconds of the ultrasound, the technician said, "There's no mistakin'. It's a boy." When the technician began to put the X's and O's on this one I thought for a minute that I was going to get to play some radical, in utero, interactive tic-tac-toe game with my little boy.
I would've won. He doesn't yet know that the middle square is the winning square.
Here he is hiding his face from all the pictures and doing awesome flips.
Carrie and I had a great time during the ultrasound. I was glued to the screen watching this child's heart beat. I'd seen plenty of pictures from ultrasounds in the past, but I had no idea they could be this detailed. Carrie is pretty excited to start the family out with a boy and even asked the technician her input on names. Carrie was cracking quite a few jokes and her laughing belly threw the technician off so much that she asked her to stop. All in all, it was an amazing experience.

Sounds Good

Thanksgiving break is now only memory. We are all reluctantly returning to school, work, and other routine obligations. The transition can be extremely difficult for some. We have thoroughly enjoyed the vacation, not having to dedicate thought to work or school topics, and expending energy only to carve the turkey, and move our thumbs, which control Master Chief’s stealthy movements.
We are met with much resistance when trying to readapt to lame life, just as a piston without oil, when moved through its shaft, encounters friction. For those who are finding it difficult to get back into the groove, I’m supplying a couple of songs that will help make the move a little easier, as does saliva on a finger help the finger enter the ear with ease during a wet willy; as does margarine help a large head caught between two wooden posts of a banister slip out with greater ease. I hope these songs can do some major greasing to your souls:

All Hallows Eve

We had a total of two trick-or-treaters. I guess the jack-o-lanterns kept most of them away. Who wouldn't be afraid of a morning-sick mother and a stealthy, totally rad shinobi?
Kids these days. The two that did come immediately ran inside as soon as Carrie opened the door. No "Trick-or-Treat", just headed straight for the candy bowl laying on our coffee table. It's amazing how much candy can fit in a child's tiny fist. After robbing our bowl of half its contents within mere nano-seconds, Carrie told "Mr. Incredible" to ease up a bit. He then ransacked the rest of our house looking for something sweet while Carrie and her friend talked about girl stuff. I bit my nails down to the skin. I don't know how I'll handle my own. Happy late Halloween!!!
